Peer Review

[edit]

Hi classmate!

This is Neha, but my username is Ns.thot3. I did a peer review on your article about the Portsmouth African Burying Ground. The edits you made thus far to the article already have contributed a lot to the overall quality of the article.I'm very excited to see how you end up contributing to the article. It will definitely be cool to see how the article is shaped by the end of the semester.

I did your peer review and wanted to summarize a few things that I think could help. I think a great place to start would be to draft a more specific plan in your sandbox. I don't know if I just don't know Wikipedia and was looking at the wrong page, but I do not remember seeing one. I think that would help organize how you plan on getting organized and getting full credit for the project. Another thing I noticed as a trend throughout my peer review was that it is hard to make a lot of assumptions based on the amount of info in the article. This is definitely something that could be added into your sandbox to help you finish your editing! Another thing I noticed was the use of articles as the only form of sources. I also think incorporating more types of sources will contribute to the overall reliability of the article.

As you add more information to the article, it may also be helpful to reorganize its structure. I think the bullet points can be reformatted to better suit the topic. It seems some missing relevant information may be things like the history, the building the grave, its recognition, and possibly even its influence. Although the information already contained in the article helps establish an understanding, more detail would help give the article a holistic feel. When adding more information, reorganization of the information would help. Additionally, I think the pictures would be more effective if they. were incorporated into the actual text as opposed to being compiled at the bottom of the article.

Overall, the article has a lot of room for improvement and I think the direction you have taken with your edits thus far will do a lot for the article! I hope my suggestions can fit somewhere into your idea for the article and help. Your article is very interesting and I personally did not know anything about this specific burial ground so I look forward to seeing how your edits help me learn more. Good luck with the rest of your article!
