I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make mistakes at some point, here is what Wikipedia is not, which might help you out. Vandalism[edit]

Hi Uncle Fester. To revert vandalism, you just click on the 'history' tab at the top of the page, then look through the most recent edits to find the last non-vandalised version. Click on the 'edit this page' tab and save it as you would any other edit, giving your reasons in the edit summary. There are detailed instructions at WP:Revert. When you do this, it's a good idea to leave a message on the user's talk page - there are vandalism warning templates at WP:Vandalism, and also to check their user contributions in case they have vandalised other articles as well. Vandal fighting is one of the most relentless tasks at WP - thanks for helping :) Natgoo 21:06, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Heh. Glad you worked it out. Cheers Natgoo 21:07, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Service[edit]

Saw your userpage. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! Almost became a Marine myself. I'd been talking to a USMC recruiter in my senior year in high school. But, when I went down to his office, the USN office was right next door. Something drove me through that door instead. The USMC recruiter walked into the USN office while I was chatting with the USN recruiter. The USMC recruiter was not amused :)

Since you're currently there, I'd like to encourage you to add material to Wikipedia regarding Iraq. There are, I imagine, few Wikipedians in Iraq, especially fluent English speaking ones. Also, if you could take pictures of various things there and upload them to appropriate articles that would be fantastic! There's a tremendous amount of history in the land where you are now. I know from tales of other service men who I work with who've been over there that access could be problematic at best at times, but there's a great opportunity for Wikipedia with you over there.

All the best, --Durin 14:48, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tony Parker article[edit]

On 12/27/05 you added the following bit [1] about 12/24/05 police incident: the incident garnered press attention because of racist remarks the basketball star allegedly made about a police officer involved in the incident.

The linked Yahoo article [2] states: Longoria shouted from the car: "He's just a Mexican bike cop. He only wants your autograph." Longoria denied making the comment.

I cannot find any references in the press to any "racist remarks" made by Tony Parker himself. Do you have any source or should we correct the article?

Looks like it was corrected by someone else.

Your Message[edit]

It wasn't a personal attack. You made two bad edits and I said something. it is nothing personal. Also, it wasn't my mistake. Another editor had asked the cite to go one line over to source both lines. Maybe instead of overreacting you should spend more time reading the discussion page and sources.Cptnono (talk) 17:54, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stop overreacting. I wasn't edit warring I was fixing your first edit that disregarded a source and than a second that was garbage. Stop leaving pointless messages on my discussion page and take it to a higher authority if you think you actually have a point.

Edit: Had to do a few minor edits to your talk page due to an errant strike-through (don't think it was me originally but could be wrong). I think the page meets all of the required criteria now as stated on the discussion page.Cptnono (talk) 23:05, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Marine flag.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Marine flag.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:45, 6 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:45, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
