Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Enterprise Rent-A-Car, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Michael Greiner 05:32, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for the heads up, Michael! I'll be sure to read into the style manual in the near future.

Hello, UncommonJane

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Graeme Bartlett, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Take Five Hard Seltzer, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Graeme Bartlett}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Take Five Hard Seltzer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request to Unblock UncommonJane

[edit]

{{unblock reviewed|reason=To the Wikipedia community of editors and administrators:

I'd like to submit a second request asking for review of my account and activity. All of my edits within Wikipedia have been made with good, fair, and honest faith. I feel that I've been wrongfully accused of receiving monetary compensation for my contributions. It's been brought to my attention that my edits are consistent (which is what I thought editors were supposed to do?) in style, but I've been denied explanation of exactly how my edits go against guidelines. It seems like this is the reason I was accused of writing in a promotional way, and dins blocked, but I truly want to understand where I am wrong so I can be a better writer.

Please review the conversations on my talk page pertaining to my first request. I am being as honest as I can be stating that I have not received any sort of incentive or compensation, or have a direct relation to any of the pages I've tried to improve.

Request reason:

To the Wikipedia community of editors and administrators:

I recently noticed that my account, UncommonJane, was blocked indefinitely from being part of the Wikipedia community. I feel there's been a quick judgement of my account and would like to ask for the block to be lifted. I've had this account for over 3 years and have tried my best to teach myself proper editing tactics, as well as best practices for creating new pages, enhancing existing pages needing some TLC, and flagging those that seem incorrect. I've continuously read through talk pages, forms, and best practices guides to make sure I'm contributing in a correct, ethical way.

With that being said, I don't understand why there's an assumption that I've been paid to make edits. I assure you that I have not received compensation of any kind from any party pertaining to my edits. I've read through the guide to appealing blocks to understand unblock requests. I've also read through and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.

My goal is to continue using my skills as a growing Wikipedia contributor to better this online resource for other editors and readers alike. With that, I ask for my account to be unblocked. Thank you.UncommonJane (talk) 20:22, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I don't wish to give away all the clues so that information cannot be used to better evade Wikipedia guidelines(not necessarily by you, but by anyone). Suffice it to say your edits indicate either that you have a closer relationship with the subjects of your edits than just stumbling across them, or that you haven't demonstrated that you have the right style of writing for a dispassionate encyclopedia. Either way, there are no grounds to remove the block, and as such I am declining your request. You may make another for someone else to review. 331dot (talk) 08:45, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

There are certain clues with your edits that suggest paid editing. How did you come to edit about the topics you did? It doesn't seem like it would have been by chance. 331dot (talk) 22:26, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I used to work in the technology and software industry in Chicago and then Southwestern Florida, so that remains to be an interest of mine. I also travel quite a bit and learn about new companies, products, and people along the way. But I mostly stumble upon pages needing edits or reviews by clicking around and following linked articles within other articles. Would you mind giving me examples of tendencies my edits have shows that suggest paid editing? I certainly want to avoid this from happening again.

That's very disappointing to hear from you. I know one of Wikipedia's core values is to make edits with good faith, and that is truly what I have been doing. It's disappointing that you can't honor my honesty, willingness to learn, and continue to contribute to the community. All of my contributions have been honest, without receiving money in exchange for such. I'd like for you to again reconsider unblocking my account. I've worked hard on it over the years, and perhaps one thing I can do is go back to the basics and brush up on fundamentals to make sure I'm on track. I would greatly appreciate if you would reconsider.

Decline reason:

"Reconsider Account Block" is not a very compelling argument. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:58, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To Wikipedia administrators and fellow editors:

I'd like to request reconsideration for my account, UncommonJane, to have its block lifted. I've worked har don building this account with good and fair interest for all Wikipedia pages and topics. I'm not sure why the user 331dot assumes my contributions have been paid edits, but I assure you that is not the case. I have not received compensation of any kind, have no stake in brands/topics I've contributed towards, and have no direct affiliation.

I would really like the block to be lifted so I can continue to learn the best editing skills and contribute towards making Wikipedia a factual, honest resource for all.
