Tell me how can we get involved in volunteer work with Lord ian in Africa please?Lord Ian David Colclough, born 27th June,1958, Staffordshire, United Kingdom. Lord Colclough immigrated with his parents in 1962 to Cape Town South Africa. During his time there he attended DeKuilen Primary School in Kuilsrivier (this was the only duel medium school within 25 miles of the Colclough homestead. Most of the lessons were in the then dominant "Afrikaans" language. Lord Ian excelled in the Arts and had an eye for sculpture and pottery. Later on he attended De Kuilen High School for one year and then on to The Settlers High School in Bellville. Here he took up Drama and Art, being one of the few Guinea Pigs, to do trials to see whether or not "art" was to be included as a subject in High Schools around the country. It was a very successful exercise and so pioneered the way for future students to do art as a major subject at school. After school most European males were conscripted into the army to fight the "terrorists" these were the then ANC and the Russians. Lord Ian joined but as a assistant public prosecutor in the local magistrates courts. It was here that he saw first hand what travesties of justice were taking place and decided to abscond to his country of birth. He returned to south Africa a while later and was promptly court marshaled and thrown in prison. Here he met fellow consciences objectors and talk of revolution was high. When Lord Ian was released he was instrumental and very hands on in the establishing of Africa’s very first independent radio station, broadcasting from the "homeland" of the Transkei. This was to be the voice of the ANC, the then illegal, “terrorist" political party. This was 1979. Though out the 1980's there were numerous bombs being planted by opposition parties and many innocent lives were lost as well as many lives of high profile ANC party members such as Steven Biko and others. Lord Ian travelled extensively around southern Africa from Kenya down to cape Town spreading the good word of change .He has had many business investments such as Tourist Lodges in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zanzibar, Malawi and Zambia. Being very much a peoples person he retuned to south Africa permanently once the new government had taken over and established the third largest outdoor media company with branches though out Africa. More recently he co-pioneered Mutha FM , an underground radio station broadcasting music for the people in Cape Town, South Africa, hosting two very successful shows "Full Frontal Friday" and the "Muthaless Mondays" shows. Lord Ian inherited his tittle from Lord Darnley of Glencoe, becoming the 11th Earl of Douglas. He has worked in a "clandestine" manner on radio stations in Singapore, South Africa, Tanzania, UK,USA and Spain. He continues to share his passion with up and coming radio talent always offering a professional ear. Lord Ian has three daughters living in Australia, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

  • Not this way. First, I deleted Lord ian david colclough since it was irredeemably promotional, and lacking reliable sources to boot. Second, your user name is a violation of our policy and I will have to block it: it clearly represents an organization. If your lord is notable by our standards (see WP:N) he can be written up, but only if in a neutral manner and properly referenced. See WP:FIRST. Thank you.
