Welcome![edit]

Hello, Yogesh Dhama Fans, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one of your contributions does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. August 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm C.Fred. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Yogesh Dhama seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The tone of your text was unacceptably glowing.C.Fred (talk) 03:32, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello C.Fred,
Thank you for reaching out and providing feedback on my recent edit to the Yogesh Dhama Wikipedia article. I appreciate your dedication to maintaining a neutral point of view on Wikipedia.
I would like to clarify that I aimed to present the information in a balanced and unbiased manner. However, I understand that achieving a truly neutral tone can sometimes be challenging, and I apologize if my edit did not meet that standard.
I would appreciate it if you could provide more specific details about the parts of my edit that came across as overly positive or promotional. This would help me better understand your perspective and make necessary adjustments to ensure that the article adheres to Wikipedia's guidelines.
I'm committed to improving the article and contributing positively to Wikipedia. If you have any suggestions or pointers on how I can revise my edit to align with Wikipedia's neutrality standards, I would be grateful to hear them.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your guidance in this matter.
Best regards,
Utsav Malik 150.203.68.94 (talk) 03:51, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Some of the issues identified in your edit:
  1. Image, which you claim to be your own work, indicates at least a conflict of interest, if not that you are an undisclosed paid editor
  2. Link removed to predecessor
  3. No source provided for the date of birth
  4. Excessively subjective terminology for intro: prominent, successfully
  5. Improper header capitalization of Early Life and Background (should be Early life)
  6. Subjective terms: respected, Tragically
  7. No sources in early life section
  8. No sources in education section
  9. No sources in political career
  10. Unattributed claim: Yogesh Dhama's commitment to the well-being of his constituency is noteworthy. Who has made note of it?
  11. Controversy section removed despite being sourced

You still have not adequately responded or taken action to the inquiry regarding your appearance as an undisclosed paid editor. If you make any additional edits without complying, you may be blocked from editing. The IP user cannot speak on your behalf. You, as a logged in user, must answer the question about whether you have been paid to edit Yogesh's article. Given the attempts to turn the article into a hagiography (specifically the removal of the controversies section), and most importantly your access to him to take a "candid" (your words) picture that you have attempted to use in the article, you need to explain how you have such access to Yogesh if you are not paid by him or his staff.C.Fred (talk) 10:56, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message, and I appreciate your diligence in ensuring the integrity of Wikipedia's editing process. I want to clarify the points you've raised:
Regarding my appearance as an undisclosed paid editor, I want to state unequivocally that I am not a paid editor, nor am I receiving any compensation for my contributions to Yogesh Dhama's article. My edits are made in good faith and with the intention of adhering to Wikipedia's guidelines.
In regards to the photograph, it was taken during a public event where I asked him team to provide me with his image and so I had the opportunity to upload candid shots, including the one in question. I understand that using such an image might raise questions, and I apologize for any confusion it may have caused. I assure you that my intention was solely to provide an appropriate and relevant image for the article.
I also want to address the concerns about the removal of the controversies section. My intention was never to suppress relevant information. I understand the importance of providing a balanced view of the subject, and I am committed to ensuring that the article accurately reflects both positive and negative aspects, with proper attribution.
I value Wikipedia's collaborative spirit and the principles of transparency. If there are any additional steps I can take to address concerns or provide further information, please let me know. I want to contribute positively to Wikipedia and maintain the highest standards of integrity.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration. Utsav Malik (talk) 11:07, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your statement regarding the images raises a lot more questions. You claim to have taken the image—and you then supplied it to Yogesh, who uploaded it to his Facebook account? —C.Fred (talk) 11:11, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did not personally capture the image. Instead, I acquired it from Yogesh Dhama's team, and they subsequently uploaded it to his Facebook account. I sincerely apologize for any confusion that may have arisen from my previous explanation. Your patience in seeking clarification is greatly appreciated. Having provided all the details with honesty, I am now eager to understand the necessary steps moving forward. Please guide me on the best course of action. Utsav Malik (talk) 11:20, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please do reply for the same Utsav Malik (talk) 12:33, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please see WikiDan61's guidance below. You cannot unilaterally change the article. Your best course of action is to discuss the desired changes at Talk:Yogesh Dhama and reach consensus with other editors on how to proceed. If you make the same edits that you have made before without change or discussion, do not be surprised if one or both of the following happen as a result: your account is blocked, or the page is protected to prevent edits from all new or unregistered users. —C.Fred (talk) 19:00, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can it be done i provide you with all the information and you make his wikipedia page i will also provide you with all the sources and information regarding the same if that is possible. Utsav Malik (talk) 12:42, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

...Although based on information from the IP user, I have confirmed that the image is not yours, but was taken from the subject's Facebook profile. I have tagged it for removal from Wikimedia Commons as a copyright violation.C.Fred (talk) 11:06, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Although you have responded here indicating that you will attempt to resolve the matters that have been brought to your attention, this edit indicates that you have no intention to resolve the matters, but rather will simply try to impose your own version of the article. Your changes are largely unsourced and, in many instances, non-neutral. Since your edits have been reverted several times by multiple members, you are strongly encouraged to discuss the changes at Talk:Yogesh Dhama, rather than simply trying to impose your own will on the article.
