Can I change my user name ? I want to make useful contribution for the benefit of all, just picked up my first book from Vedanta literature and was adding references when got these alerts. Its a wonderful book and many facts on persons and places associated with Sri Ramakrishna/Vedanta can be cited which are already existing in Wiki.

I am just trying to add facts with good elaboration from the same book as and when it comes (Its will appear as book spamming for now but when I research many books and add this will not remain as spam). You may kindly review the deletes and suggest.

Pls guide on the forward path. This is all I have to say.

Dear Reviewer,

I got to understand your alerts. Being new to Wikipedia (Account created a week back) and anxious to add more authentic information to the existing wiki pages, took up the task to add where-ever all wiki users and audience can benefit based on my reading and research of the specific book.

Examples - In one where its written 4 daughters , the particular reference added has enough detailed info if referred to the page of the

book providing the family tree too.

- In another traced the first meeting via research and added text as it required correction to the incorrect information put.

- In yet another , the whole genesis of the festival is provided

Audience do appreciate good research.

1. I agree that the pattern of adding references is not the right way ( per Wiki protocols) as there are enough available resources to authenticate the existing pages. Also I just kept adding from the same book which appeared like spam , my ignorance to the new system on bell alerts have costed me.

2. I shall add many many other books too based on my research but was trying to add more authentic information present in the book that was in hand for research, which obviously has backfired.

3. I realize that the User ID is a biased one, was advised with a liner to create a different one than the name, since my area of research is Vedanta Literature chose close to it and by no means truefully biased to org. or used for promotion. It was chosen carefully to be near the research subject.

You are most welcome to review the additions marked as book spamming , if dug deeper the research tied to this specific book I am reading will help the audience to even get more detailed and authentic background . This is all I have to put forward for my case, I remain a vedanta student and vedanta is a global concept , thanks to Wiki .

I have been reading through the lines of your alerts again and again to understand what went wrong out the mistakes not to be repeated again.

Your discretion is appreciated.

unblock|new to the system, need to change the approach of adding references so that it does not appear as book spamming or advertisement or promotion.

An apology to the wiki team : I’m very sorry – as you can see, I’m very new to this. I didn’t see the warning messages until after I was shut down. I was new and didn’t know the rules, and was unaware of the reason for my edits being reverted. I’m sorry. If I ever attempt to edit again, I’m better prepared.

The notices icon on the top said keep editing but the alerts definitely had warning against my username which was ignored due to the excitement to the new system, now that have gone through thoroughly with the rules and protocols, am better prepared to make a valuable contribution to wiki for the audience if I attempt to ever edit.
