Paraguay

[edit]

Hi its is great news to have a Paraguayan onboard. As you can see Paraguay is one of the most neglected countries on here, even the major cities are one line stubs, pLease develop the towns and other articles as much as you can and help provide photos. Welcome and happy editing amigo!!! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 13:42, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Portrait of Guido Boggiani

[edit]

Hello. Thank you for starting an article on Guido Boggiani. Unfortunately, Image:Boggiani.JPG is flagged for deletion. Your description trabajo propio (own work) is ambiguous. It's not clear who created it. If Boggiani created it himself, you cannot be the copyright holder, and you could not have released it into the public domain: instead, it was already in the public domain (because the artist had been dead so long). If you created it yourself, it's better to say this more clearly. Please go to Commons:Deletion_requests/Image:Boggiani.JPG and explain. (I'm sure that it is OK to explain in Spanish, if you prefer.) -- Hoary (talk) 06:44, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good job on Paraguay

[edit]

Good job in editing articles based in Paraguay. Estas haciendo un muy buen trabajo ya que el Paraguay tiene tan poca informacion y esta en necesidad de expansion en articulos de geografia y biografias de gente importante. Segui asi por favor, buen trabajo! Good job!.Bruno18 (talk) 18:10, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is typical of edits you've been making today. You added two "external links", ostensibly about Guido Boggiani. One is to a page that is not external and doesn't mention Guido Boggiani. The other is an external link but to a page that doesn't mention Guido Boggiani -- it's to the top page of an encyclopedia that does not have an article about Boggiani.

I don't know what you're trying to do. I'd like to "assume good faith", because you have made other good edits. However, it looks as if you are spamming this encyclopedia.

Please go through your list of contributions, and delete any unnecessary links to this encyclopedia. Thank you. -- Hoary (talk) 15:33, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please, no.
If the encyclopedia is notable and if an article about it can be composed from independent sources (e.g. articles in Paraguayan newspapers), by all means create an article about it.
Please do not also attempt to drum up interest in the encyclopedia by adding links to it where they are not warranted. Any such attempt is sure to backfire, which would be a great pity.
Again, I urge you to reconsider the links that you have added, and to remove most of them. -- Hoary (talk) 15:57, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Paraguay

[edit]

First of all congratulations for all your hard work on filling up those stubs on Paraguay. However, can you please NOT add the flag of Paraguay and coat of arms to the infoboxes, they ar eintended to be any local flags rather than the national. Also can you PLEASE stop removing the pushpin maps and replacing them with the unlegible department maps where it is extremely difficult to find where the town actually is. Also you need to start using citations in your articles rather than depending on external links overall The Bald One White cat 14:13, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Lorenzo Álvarez Florentín has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I'm sure he's a great violinist, but not able to find enough people who wrote about him to justify a Wikipedia article

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
