Spin
[edit]Thank you for your suggestion! When you feel an article needs improvement, please feel free to make whatever changes you feel are needed. Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone can edit any article by simply following the Edit this page link at the top. You don't even need to log in! (Although there are some reasons why you might like to...) The Wikipedia community encourages you to be bold. Don't worry too much about making honest mistakes—they're likely to be found and corrected quickly. If you're not sure how editing works, check out how to edit a page, or use the sandbox to try out your editing skills. New contributors are always welcome.
I suggest adding an article on Spin (Dutch band), and throwing in a hatnote into the Spin (band) article, along with an entry in the Spin (disambiguation) page. Josh Parris#: 03:02, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Al Hoceima photo
[edit]Sir, I've already released the photo in the public domain. Is this not an even more liberal license than the GFDL-photo? Why can't a public domain picture be placed on the Dutch Wikipedia? --Westonmr 04:20, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
I really don't know... 195.96.122.127 10:52, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I am a woman. Verrekijker 21:25, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Kelly Van Der Veer
[edit]Mate some of your edits to this article that was initially written by me look dubious to my eyes. By what sources have you changedthe info on the Big Brother section and stated that she was one of the less favuorites to win the contest? I also have an ojection to you making a hash of the trivia section where I had quoted the the translation of her name from Dutch to English verbatim. Look up on Bbelfish what "Kelly van der Veer" translates into. If you had some extra info about it , you could have added it to the section instead of editing out the valid information that was already there.
I will try to find my source where I read that Kelly was one of favourites to win and ones its done, I will revert back to the original info. These things should be discussed on Dicussion page and unilateral action should not taken by any user.

- Unitedroad, I am Dutch and that happens to be my mother tongue. Also, I know Kelly personally; she has been treated in the same hospital for the same disorder as I was. This means we're both MTF transsexuals. Veer means (1) feather, but also (2) spring or (3) ferry, see [1]. For examples see:
- Transsexuals suffer a lot of dicrimination in the Netherlands, as Kelly and I know. Although the gutter press wrote positively about Kelly, public reponse was very negative: people said she acted silly, misbehaved, and that she was a fake woman without intelligence. I'm sorry to tell you all this 'cause you fancy her. Which most Dutch men can't understand: you, being a heterosexual man, fancying a transsexual. But as I said, prejudice is very high over here in the Netherlands.
- Anyway, I was very positively surprised by your article about her. Thanks! Verrekijker 21:22, 17 August 2006 (UTC) (Sally Mens from Utrecht)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Verrekijker. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Verrekijker~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
