Musical genres[edit]

Some people are awfully protective of their favourite bands' biographical information; are you sure you want to be modifying all of those musical genre entries without discussing it with other Wikipedia contributors on the talk pages? What are your sources? TheFeds 05:14, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

October 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to After the Burial, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. November 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The project's content policies require that all articles be written from a neutral point of view, and not introduce bias or give undue weight to viewpoints. Please bear this in mind when making edits such as your recent edit to Divine Heresy. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Ginsengbomb (talk) 05:50, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just following up on this -- I reverted it primarily because it had previously been reverted, and after reviewing the article's talk page there seems to be relatively broad recent consensus around "deathcore" not being the appropriate genre. Additionally, the previous genre listed had a number of cited references, adding to their cause. Regardless, important thing is that if you want to change the genre, you should probably bring it up on the article's talk page first. Thanks :). Crimson Falls[edit]

Since this article has been deleted in the past you are far better off building it in your userspace at user:Viper5hdz/Crimson Falls. IT can be moved into the main namespace once you have found some sources.©Geni 01:15, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Fragments of Awareness requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Deathcore[edit]

Can I ask, what's your issue? What's your constant misuse and relentless adding of the genre "deathcore" to articles in which the musical groups that you add this to aren't (and usually not) even close to being in this genre. Your edits have been continously reverted and have caused nothing but problems, how about you quit this? We have a name for people like you it's called a genre warrior. As a further note, if you don't stop, you may be blocked from editing. • GunMetal Angel 18:46, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article The Infinite Order has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

per WP:NALBUM upcoming albums do not pass WP:NOTABILITY

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RP459 (talk) 23:28, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Desolation of Eden requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

I have nominated Contagion (Oceano album), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Contagion (Oceano album). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. I42 (talk) 08:13, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
