Do you have another username?

[edit]

I.e. one that you use for non-foundation-related edits, i.e. like how the former foundation employee Danny used the account User:Dannyisme for edits made in his official duties. If so what is it, if not it might be a good idea so you're not using an account that says "-WMF" for edits you make on your own time. --Random832 06:06, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I actually don't have a lot of time these days, I've only made a few edits under XoVolition, so I guess that would be the non-foundation name. Vishal 14:15, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What makes you think that it is false?

[edit]

I can't see anything to suggest that investigative journalist Ludwig de Brackeleer's Ohmy News article isn't accurate in its assertion that Wikipedia funded Virgil Griffith to create the Wiki Scanner. It seems rather how you say odd that someone involved in WMF is removed this article. He was accurate with regards to the SlimVirgin article, so why not with regards to this? It is rather important to note the agenda behind the Wiki Scanner, and to note that it was done to support Wikipedia, not to oppose it. 123.2.168.215 13:54, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

→The Wikimedia Foundation does not fund this tool. While this tool may have been created to support Wikipedia, and it is helpful and useful, the foundation did not fund it. Vishal 15:15, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vishal, thanks for your kind note. Unfortunately, Wikipedia Scanner is the kind of hot-topic article which attracts some, er, unusual edits. Casey Abell 15:24, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Purple Barnstar
For having garbage thrown at you from complete morons who obviously understand nothing about Wikipedia. Despite what those idiots think, you are doing an excellent job as a foundation employee. Keep it up! --Mschel 02:37, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinitely protected article

[edit]

I'm curious as to why Bryten Goss has been indefinitely protected. There's been no edit warring and he doesn't seem a particularly controversial subject. I had started a clean-up of the article (added an infobox + some categories, etc.), but when I came back to it I found it protected. Precious Roy 15:01, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
