Cuvier's beaked whale
[edit]Hi there, just wanted to touch base regarding the maintenance templates you removed from the Cuvier's beaked whale article. It seems like you had some frustration about them being placed there. Please know that there is nothing personal intended about you or your work when these templates are placed on an article - they are simply other editors taking a look and noticing that certain standards are not currently met in the piece. In practice these templates can be a wonderful thing in the life of an article as they can attract other editors to collaborate to help improve the article. I took a look at the article today and reinstated the templates (which were not originally placed by me) as each of them continues to apply to the current state of the article. Keep up the good work on the article and it will soon be at a place where these templates no longer apply. Retswerb (talk) 08:31, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
Hi @Retswerb! Thank you for your very nice and helpful message. You were right, about my reactions! I went through all sorts of lengthy training in our course––from Wikipedia––and thought I was dotting every i, so to speak. My Professor who is a UC Berkeley biology and naturalism professor liked my work, but also promised to help me make it "perfect." That will be terrific, of course. I will keep working with great happiness, since it is such an interesting and rewarding subject. I really appreciate your reaching out to me. Watkins-Jorgensen (talk) 09:40, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
Hey I noticed you did a lot of work to expand and add sources to the article on Cuvier's beaked whale, so just wanted to say thanks for that. I did some copy-editing on it a couple weeks back after seeing the tag, so hopefully it looks better (I have no background in marine biology). To be honest, what you did with adding sources and information is the harder part, so thanks. Cheers talk) 10:42, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
Hey, @Fredlesaltique! talk) Thanks for the kind words! I much appreciate the help. I had to edit the first contributor (who did the stub to begin with) who was rather inaccurate–– but meant well. I have background, and may get a bit too scholarly but I like a lot of detail and precision. I haven't looked back on the article very much, just a cursory glance. Will review and appreciate your efforts! Cheers, Nan (Watkins-J)
