Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first — it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 05:37, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Photo licenses

[edit]

Hi WikiWonderful99! Regarding the photos of Pomona College that you've uploaded, such as File:Men protest the gender integration of Frary.jpg, I see that you've marked them as having a Creative Commons license. I don't think there's any such notice on the Pomona timeline website, though. Unfortunately, we cannot just upload any photos from the internet to Wikipedia; if they are not properly licensed, they will have to be deleted. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 05:42, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I saw your reply to Conifer. That's a big relief! Please do make sure the folks you are in touch with contact OTRS as Conifer instructed so that the photos won't have to be deleted. It will be very nice to have those available for the Pomona College page! While they're granting permissions, there are actually a few additional historical Pomona photos that it would be nice to have if Pomona holds the license. Namely:
There are also a bunch of contemporary photos it would be great to have, but I'll go one group at a time. I'm less familiar with the copyright aspects of Wikipedia than Conifer, but feel free to let me know if I can be of any help. Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 09:35, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi WikiWonderful! I just wanted to quickly follow up about this. If OTRS is not contacted by tomorrow, the photos are scheduled to be deleted, which would be unfortunate. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 01:50, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
