Hello Wikialtruist, and welcome to Wikipedia! The first thing you should know is that we encourage you to be bold. Feel free to edit and improve articles, by clicking any 'edit' link.

If you'd like to test what Wikipedia can do, check out the sandbox - just type and save the page and your text will appear. That's the beauty of a Wiki.

For more information check out our tutorial - it's designed with newcomers in mind, as is the help section. If you'd like to get involved with current projects, have a look at the Community Portal. There are always tasks for users to do, ranging from copyediting to expanding stubs.

I hope you'll enjoy your time here, but be warned, it can become addictive! Feel free to message me, I'm more than happy to help. As an added tip, sign any message you post so users know that you've said it. To do so is delightfully simple, just use the wikicode ~~~~.

Once again, welcome!

Trivandrum and Kochi

[edit]

Altruist, I honestly do not understand your stuborn stand in the issue. We have lined up references before you and have underlined the fact that Kochi is the largest Urban anglomeration in Kerala. I would have had the same stand even if I was in TVM. It makes no difference to me. I stand by the truth only.
However your interests seem to be different. You seem to be motivated in projecting TVM, by bold facing its references in articles and erasing cochin from India's map (Thanks for pointing out that TVM was not on the map. I have taken up the issue with the admins). thunderboltz(TALK) 11:57, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Talk:Kerala for links regarding the same. --thunderboltz(TALK) 14:32, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it was User:Khoikhoi who reverted the edits about the roads, as you guys seem to have no intention or respect towards wikipedia or the many users who have spent years in bringing the articles here to its present state after careful research. Rather, you guys are using it as a medium to advertise your city.
Later on, when a further edit was made, it was automatically reverted by a script in my Monobook.js.
I understand that all this is because of some silly fight on some online forums. (Forgive me if my analysis is wrong)
Anyway, before you make such significant changes, wikipedia policy is to discuss it at the page's talk page and come to a consensus amicably regarding the matter. The original data was not added without research or references. -- thunderboltz(TALK) 14:56, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thats what I said. The link got reverted by my bot. Sorry for that. Please refer Wikipedia:Citing_sources and cite the necessary sources that you said you could provide. -- thunderboltz(TALK) 15:15, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I provided a source at Talk:Kochi, India. —Khoikhoi 08:23, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ask the person who created the map, User:Nichalp. —Khoikhoi 07:05, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest you ask him. —Khoikhoi 07:14, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
