February 2016[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing, because this account has been used only for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to Wikipedia's content policy. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is against Wikipedia's policy: an account is for an individual, not a group. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a free advertising service.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. MER-C 13:04, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

We haven't finished editing the information on our page. Another company we deal with have a page (Automatic Systems) and we are trying to create a page like theirs. I would like to add references and update the history of our products.

Decline reason:

You are not allowed to have a username in the name of a company - and adding "(company)" certainly does not rectify that. I'm also concerned about your use of "we" as group or joint accounts are not allowed - a Wikipedia account is for a single individual who wishes to help us build the encyclopedia, not for groups or companies representing their own interests. And it would not be *your* page, it would Wikipedia's article *about* the company. Please think about these things and have a read of our Conflict of Interest policy at WP:COI before you make another unblock request (and also check out the notability requirements for companies at WP:NCORP). Request reason:

I was talking about 'we' as a company. If you had read the information you would have seen that. And you say as a rule you are not aloud a company page and adding it after the name doesn't make a difference but please explain how that has happened for page and they haven't been blocked?... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_Systems_(company). I would advise that you have an option that allows you to save a draft before saving the page and that way 'we' could of edited the information before it got to this stage. If you still feel our page should be blocked please delete our account.

Decline reason:

This is not a request to be unblocked. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:07, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The article Automatic Systems (company) was submitted via the "articles for creation" system, and after being rejected numerous times and rewritten, it was eventually accepted. Personally, I would not have accepted it, as I see it as too promotional, but it is nowhere near the level of pure unadulterated marketing-speak of the page you created.
