Welcome
[edit]Hi there! Thanks for your interest in editing Wikipedia. But it is not a good practice to edit an article about yourself (i.e. Daniel Wolpert), and test edits such as your last edit should really be done in your sandbox. For writing about oneself, you might want to know the Wikipedia policies such as on autobiography and conflict of interest. Chhandama (talk) 02:57, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Hi and thanks for your email and I appreciate you taking the conflict of interest guidelines seriously. The template guidelines make clear that both "Doctoral students" and "notable students" in academic infoboxes are for students who are notable enough for their own wikipedia articles. If students become notable in the future, then they can be added to the page at that time. Wikipedia is not designed to be a resume or list of students trained, there are plenty of other places for that, it is an encyclopedia article. In an encyclopaedia, even very famous academics from the past who supervised hundreds of students will only have those listed who went on to themselves be notable.
