[edit]I thought there was some sort of "freedom of speech" on Wikipedia. Why did you choose to consider my editing as "vandalism"? Please leave me and my editing ability alone! You're a bad person! User:4.155.30.102
- Removing all the context of the article is considered vanadlism, as Your_Talk page shows, you (or someone from your ip) have recieved numerous warnings already. Xaosflux 06:02, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Are you from somewhere that prohibits freedom of expression? I am guessing that you are, as you have found it to be intolerable. This is a characteristic of someone who has a totalitarian outlook on life. Why have you made it your own personal resposibility to edit other people's self-expression?
- I am certainly not the authority on UFO's, if you think my revert was uncalled for revert it back...but I've got a feeling plenty of others will agree that your page blanking is not constructive. Xaosflux 06:37, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Thanks

Merging the POPPERS/NITRITES page
[edit]Dear sir or madam,
Would you kindly let me know why you're suggesting a merge of my page POPPERS/NITRITES with another?
As a newbie, I'm unclear on the rules.
Kind regards, 209.248.254.66 05:59, 7 December 2005 (UTC) Allabout2006
There is already an article posted for Alkyl nitrites, IMHO if this article contains information not in that article including it in the existing would make for a better encylopedia. We also already have a redirect to that article for Poppers to make people searching for subject matter on it easy to find. A merge suggestions is not a personal attack on the editor, it is just a suggestino, certainly open for comment on the Talk page listed.
Also, Please LOG IN if you want to make comments as a username, that is the only way to authenticate that the comments are really yours, and not just somone claiming to be you. All comments are welcome, even from anonymous editors, but speaking authoritatively for someone else is generally not warranted.
xaosflux T/C 02:22, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
Gentlemen,
I hope you'll be more kind to other newbies. I apologize for anything I may have done that you may have thought was inappropriate, but like anyone who's new to something like Wikipedia, I am attempting to get my 'water wings', and can be expected to not know how to use this wonderful service as well as do you all, who are experienced posters here.
So I ask that you please extend me the courtesy of being able to learn, before you again accuse me of being a "sock puppet", or post other nasty and erroneous descriptions of my efforts (As "Heah" has done from the very first time I posted here three days ago). Like others here, I am only trying to add valuable and timely information to the already-existing body of data on the subjects I hope to post on.
Respectfully, Allabout2006 07:15, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
Initial D
[edit]You reverted the initial D page while it was in the middle of a transition to a multiple page format that has been in the works for at least a week. Please read talk pages before you make reversions so that ongoing projects are not disturbed. If you are interested in my project feel free to drop me a line on the Initial D talkpage or my own talk. I could use all the hands I can get.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 05:11, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry for the confusion, showed up as article blanking ona RC feed; please use edit summaries especially when removing large ammounts of data at a time. xaosflux T/C 05:15, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- No problem, but here's something I just recently figured out myself. Its pretty important to check histories and probably do a comparison before making a reversion, especially when it is by a logged in user. A lot of times when someone is making a series of associated edits within a larger scope they will only comment once or twice. Sometimes when a user or group of users is collaborating towards substantial edits, they will limit it to the user page too. But a history comparison is usually the best as it will reveal if the article was edited or simply blanked or such.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 05:58, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- It certainly is! Just missed it on that one, there was a flood of blanking all at once right then, missed that one, glad it's all back in order though, have a great day. xaosflux T/C 00:07, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- If you dont mind, could you tell me where to use the feed, because I want to get involved but I can only protect a select few articles without the feed. I feel since joining CVU I haven't really done anything to make it worthwhile.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 02:31, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit]I see your reversions are being questioned as well. When will it all end? Will the vandals win? Izehar (talk) 00:09, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- It comes with the game, sometimes the rv's are mistakes (like the one Oni Ookami Alfador mentioned above, the RC feed gets hectic sometime as you probally know, generally before I rv something more then once on the same article I read in to it a bit, but some people like the one a few sections up just don't get it! xaosflux T/C 00:20, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
Recent blocking
[edit]I blocked that IP for 24 hours, taking into account the warnings that were already there before today. --HappyCamper 03:04, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

- No problem. I am usually not so keen on blocking that quickly, but when I read those edit summaries, well...to say the least they were quite inappropriate! See you around! --HappyCamper 03:08, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

- Could have been a browser issue, and everything is back in order xaosflux T/C 05:12, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Okay, that's good. But how come I keep getting —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.105.0.87 (talk • contribs) ? I'm writing --anon! And what's a browser issue?
By the way, I just wrote:
What's a user space page? Whatever it is, it doesn't sound good. Why would anybody want to ban anonymous users? They shouldn't because:
1)Some anonymous users contribute greatly.
2)Wikipedia is supposed to be the free encyclopedia.
3)There are many good articles started by anonymous users that may have not be created at all without them.
4)Logged in users vandalize just as much as anonymous users.
5)It is not a good first experience and would not encourage people to log in and use Wikipedia regularly.
6)People should have the right to choose whether to get a username or not. Wikipedia shouldn't force people to get a username to make articles.
7)When you ban out the anonymous users, you ban the good ones as well.
8)It doesn't take much work just to erase vandalized info.
Therefore, this policy should end! Instead, or you could:
1) Whenever an anonymous user wants to make an article, they have to go here (or some other place) to debate whether they want it or not.
2)If an anonymous user vandalizes more than five times, ban that person from making articles.
These are better, but I rather have no policies at all. So, if you can, please get rid of the policies. If not, please do either number 1 or number 2. --anon
I was going to change "Instead, or you could:" to "Or you could" when I got an edit conflict. So I had to change that instead thing to the could thing again. But I didn't erase anything! --anon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.105.0.87 (talk • contribs)
- Sometimes things get messy when you hit an edit conflict, when I do I usually copy all the text I was adding to my clipbaord, go back to the article or talk page, then edit it and put my info in again. BTW, to sign your Talk page comments put four tilde's at the end of the line, like this: ~~~~ xaosflux T/C 04:10, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
Someone's altering my edit
[edit]Hi, I was not vandalizing a page, I typed a formal edit and somebody has been changing the wording in a manner that changes the meaning of the sentence. Request for RfC Comment
[edit]Having been a past participant in the User:Braaad / User:68.112.201.90 "incident", I was hoping you could take a second and add any input you might have to an RfC I've written at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Braaad. Thanks. McNeight 05:42, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- I had very little dealings with this IP, but did put my response on the Talk Page of the RfC. xaosflux Talk/CVU 03:43, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response, but the user removed your sock puppet warnings on the user pages. McNeight 00:22, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- I'm really not entrenched in the problems with that user, the puppet flags will stay in the history, if someone else wants to revive them they can. xaosflux Talk/CVU 00:43, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Thanks again! McNeight 00:57, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Did I correctly understand your question with my answer? I think you were trying to ask about what I would do if there was a POV dispute on a page I contributed to. Is that right? Let me know if I can clarify my positions for you. Thanks for the feedback! EdwinHJ | Talk 11:01, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you for answering, I was really getting at the POV issue, I've
struckmy neutral and added a Support, hope you get it! xaosflux Talk/CVU 23:44, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Your signature
[edit]Xaosflux, I noticed that your signature has an image (that of the CVU) in it. Generally, images in signatures are frowned upon because they cause additional server strain because of the amount of transclusion required; see Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages, which also addresses images in signatures. Would you be willing to remove the image from your signature? Thanks a lot! Flcelloguy (A note?) 03:54, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- Wow, I was just working on some layout stuff and wasn't really liking that image in there just hadn't gotten around to pulling it yet, but it should be gone now. xaosflux Talk/CVU 04:29, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Early RFA thanks
[edit]Hi Xaosflux/Archive3,
Thank you very much for your support on my RfA. It has done very well and is currently at 67/0/2. As such, I am posting this in advance of its closure. If I can ever help with anything or if you have any comments about my actions as an admin, please let me know. Thank you once again! – NSLE (T+C+CVU) 01:07, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Dear Xaosflux,
I would like to thank you for supporting me on my RfA. Even though it failed with a with the final tally of 55/22/6, I want to thank you anyways. I don't want to be one a admin anymore until I reach 10,000 edits now that it's over with. Thanks --Jaranda wat's sup 02:14, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Merge and delete are not compatible votes. When you finish a merge you are required to redirect the article so the edit history is retained so the contributor is attributed per GFDL requirements. Please read Wikipedia:Guide to deletion and change your vote if you want it to count. If you have any questions feel free to drop me a note. - Mgm|(talk) 19:27, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification. I think that there is usually something salvageable from most edits, and would not want to simply delete in it's entirety (I was the suggester of Merge in the first place). I do think that the naming context alone for that article is bad, and should be removed from the index alltogheter, but do understand the need to keep GFDL attributations. I changed my vote to Smerge on the AfD. xaosflux T/C 22:46, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
Thank you!
[edit]Many thanks for your support during my RfA – following a 30/0/0 vote I’ve now been made an admin. Do have a Jaffa Cake! Cheers, CLW 13:57, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

I was not blanking the article; I was replacing the overblown episode list with a simple wikilink (using {{main}}) to another article containing the exact same information. --Apostrophe 04:58, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- Agree 100%, I had already reverted, but thaught it may have been erroneus, thus the extra note I left on your talk page. Apologies for causing you the extra edit, but glad it got resolved so quickly! xaosflux Talk/CVU 05:02, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

thank you for deleting my page
