Welcome!

[edit]
Hi, Xargoth, Welcome to Wikipedia!

Xargoth - I will respond to your mediation request shortly. First, let me be the first to welcome you to Wikipedia - TheronJ 21:44, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.

Additional tips

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Happy Wiki-ing.TheronJ 21:44, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS: This is not a bot and you did nothing to prompt this message. This is just a friendly welcome by a fellow Wikipedian.

Armenian Genocide

[edit]

- Hi there as you see this rubbish article has a huge gang of armenians and biased admins supporting any type of nonsence. I am unfortunately really busy these days but arbitration is the only way. I will support you on this as much as I can. all the best.

- Well, thank you for your support on this matter. I am currently taking neccassary steps, before taking the article and the users to Arbitration. First, i have issued a case for mediators. And will do the rest within this month. I sure won't leave these guys alone at imposing their Biased views on the "Armenian Genocide" claims..

O cevap vermedigim seyler gercekten cevap vermeye degmez seyler zaten artik ermeniler bile kullanamiyor o kaynaklari. Simdilerde Alman arsivine dadandilar. Bakalim...

hep onlarin kaynaklarini kullaniyorum ama ne fayda. Görüyorsun herkes inanmis bize revizyonis bir cesit neo-nazi diye bakiyorlar.

burasi böyle ama daha asil olayi görmedin. Is ciddiye binice hakaretler ve hatta inceden tehtidler baslar. Senin kim oldugunu aramaya falan kalkarlar.

Your mediation request regarding Armenian Genocide

[edit]

Xargoth, I am writing in response to your mediation request regarding the Armenian Genocide article.

From your initial comments, it appears that you prefer not to be involved in the mediation. If that's the case, I don't think the mediation cabal will be able to help -- the idea of mediation is that a mediator (in this case, me) will try to help the editors in a dispute reach a common agreement, or consensus, and to work together productively in the future. Although a mediation may serve as evidence in a later arbitration if one or more of the parties is really out of line, it won't work unless everyone involved in the dispute really tries their best to work together. Mediations don't serve as a third party review of the document, but as an effort to help the disputing sides discuss and resolve their dispute.

I'm not criticizing your complaint (I don't know enough at this point to judge it one way or the other), but wanted to lay out your choices. Based on what I know of your concerns, I would recommend the following:

  1. First, I recommend that you consider requesting an advocate from the Association of Member's Advocates. An advocate can explain the Wikipedia policies and help you to draft appropriate dispute resolution requests.
  2. Second, assuming you want an "outside opinion" of the dispute in Armenian Genocide, you may want to ask your advocate about putting together one or more requests for comment, which are requests for editors not currently involved in the dispute to check it out and express their opinion. A request for comment isn't binding, but sometimes a fresh opinion can help resolve a dispute.
  3. Third, if you prefer, I would be happy to go forward with the mediation. If so, let me know - I will have some questions for you to focus the dispute, and we can go from there.

I will wait a week or so to see if you would like to participate in the mediation, or if the other editors would find it helpful. Please feel free to respond here with any comments or questions. Thanks, and I hope I will be able to assist you, TheronJ 21:56, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
