Would you have a look at WP:ENGVAR, please? Both airplane and aeroplane are acceptable spellings, as are meter and metre, they just represent common en-US or en-GB variations. We normally respect other author's choices as long as they are consistent with the rest of the article. Just as you would expect your choice of spelling to be respected by other editors, you should respect other editors' variants of spelling. It is best not to change from one style to another without good reason, especially when a change leaves the article with different spellings of the same word (as happened in Outer space). You may wish to review your recent edits after reading ENGVAR, and perhaps self-revert if you agree that they did not improve the articles. --RexxS (talk) 01:43, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
