Velaikaran (English: Servant) is a 1952 Indian, Tamil-language film directed by P. V. Krishnan.[2] The film featured T. R. Mahalingam, S. Varalakshmi and Madhuridevi in the lead roles.[3]

Production

During the period 1951-52, actor T. R. Mahalingam tried his hands in producing films. However, he could not succeed as a producer. He even produced and directed Chinnadurai that was an adaptation of a crime novel Iru Mohinigal authored by Vaduvoor K. Duraisamy Iyengar. But the film failed at the box office. He was intent in giving a successful film and featured in this film produced by Sri Valli productions. However, this film also was a failure.[5]

Soundtrack

Music was composed by R. Sudarsanam while the lyrics were penned by Kavimani Desigavinayagam Pillai, Papanasam Sivan, K. D. Santhanam, Ku. Ma. Balasubramaniam and K. P. Kamatchisundaram. Singers are T. R. Mahalingam and S. Varalakshmi and the playback singers are C. S. Jayaraman, A. G. Rathnamala, T. S. Bhagavathi, Soolamangalam Sisters and M. S. Rajeswari.[4]
