Velká Bystřice (German Groß Wisternitz) is a town in Olomouc District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic.
The town covers an area of 9.21 square kilometres (3.56 sq mi), and has a population of 2,977 (as at 3 July 2006).
Velká Bystřice lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) east of Olomouc and 218 km (135 mi) east of Prague.
