Hemel in April 1987

Virginie Norbertina Maria Korte-van Hemel (May 8, 1929 – April 3, 2014) was a Dutch politician. She was a member of the CDA on behalf of the House and Senate. In the cabinets Lubbers I and Lubbers II, she was Secretary for Justice. Hemel was born in Bergen op Zoom.

Between 1966 and 1978 she served as member of the municipal council of Bussum, and between 1970 and 1974 she served as alderman concurrently.

Between 1992 and 1999 she served as member of the Council of State of the Netherlands in extraordinary service.

Hemel died on April 3, 2014 in Bussum, aged 84.[1]
