Vlčnov is a village and municipality located in Zlín Region of the Czech Republic, in the cultural region of Moravian Slovakia (Slovácko).

The population of the village is slightly over three thousand inhabitants (3,020 on 1 January 2005). Vlčnov is well known for its traditional folklore festival The Ride of the Kings (Jízda králů in Czech) held every year at the end of May. The festival is also known outside the Czech Republic for its traditional costumes and folklore music.

The nearest town is Uherský Brod, located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of Vlčnov. This town provides higher education, health care and working opportunities. Therefore many residents commute to work there.

History

According to preserved historical documents, the first records of village named Vlčnov date back to 1264.
