Vladislav Kurasov (Vlad Kurasov, Владислав Курасов, Vladyslav Kurasov, born March 13, 1995) is an aspiring singer, songwriter, the semifinalist of the Ukrainian National Selection for Eurovision Song Contest -2016,[1] the finalist of the television show The X-Factor-2 Ukraine, the winner of the television show "Star Ring", the 2013 International Songwriting Competition The People's Voice Winner,[2][3][4][5] 2014 Unsigned Only Music Competition Fandemonium Winner.[6]

Early Years

Kurasov was born on March 13, 1995 in the city of Brest, Belarus. In 2006 the Kurasov's family moved to Krasnodar (Russia). Vladislav enrolled in the Interschool Aesthetic Center (IAC) to study variety vocal singing and pianoforte, and also in Creative Union "Première" (Theatre), and graduated his studies at these institutions in 2011 with honors. He has two sisters and a brother and is the youngest child in the family. He is the winner of many national and international competitions, such as: "Blue-Eyed Anapa," "Star Youth of the Planet," "Little Stars", "Eaglet Lights Up A Star” and many others.

In 2007 Kurasov took part in Minuta slavy show on the Russian TV-Channel "The First Channel" performing Elvis Presley’s song Blue Suede Shoes which received high scores from the jury.[7]

X Factor

On August 27, 2011 the STB (TV channel) broadcast a program about the "Х-Factor" auditions in Donetsk where Kurasov performed Celine Dion’s song My Heart Will Go On. The audience rose in applause and all four judges said "Yes" to Kurasov.[7]

Having successfully passed the first three rounds of the selection process (preliminary and TV auditions and the training camp), Kurasov began competing in the fourth and deciding round for a place in the “Boys” category.

On October 22, 2011 "Х-Factor" had its first live broadcast during which Kurasov performed Leonard Cohen song Hallelujah which eventually became the "visiting card" of the young performer.[8]

Kurasov had found himself in the nomination at the end of the 7-th live show. By performing the song You Lost Me and won the battle against his opponent decisively and proceeded to the next round.

In the finale of the project he performed "Walking Away" in a duet with the British star Craig David. Kurasov took part in all of ten "Х-Factor" broadcasts and took the third place by results of viewers voting.[9]

Star Ring

On March 6, 2012 the Ukrainian STB (TV channel) launched the show "Star Ring" which was a contest of finalists of two "Х-Factor" seasons and vocalists of Ukrayina maye talant. Kurasov was one of the contestants of that new project.

During the live broadcast of "Star Ring" on April 10, 2012, which the Channel’s management decided to make the last broadcast, the viewers had to select the winner of that project.

Vladislav performed his "visiting card" – Hallelujah song, trying to impart new feelings to it. Vlad’s performance did not leave the audience untouched and according to results of viewers’ voting he became the winner of the show and was awarded the money prize in the amount of UAH 500,000 ($61,550 USD) to shoot a clip and record a song.[10][11][12]

Music career

Kurasov's first author song “Farewell, My Town” was released online on June 22, 2012. It was favorably received by his fans and is getting very good reviews from online listeners around the world.[13][14]

On December 2, 2012, as a winner of the contest at the "Yatalant.ru",[15] Vladislav Kurasov presented his song "Proshchay, Moy Gorod"-" Farewell, My Town" at "The Golden Gramophone Award" in St Petersburg, Russia. The Golden Gramophone Award is a yearly national Russian music award, established by Russian Radio in 1996. It is one of the most prestigious musical events in Russia. He was singing in front of 11,000 people in The Ice Palace.[16]

His second song "Nol Liubvi v Kvadrate" - "Zero Love Squared" became a semifinalist of The International Songwriting Competition -2012 in Nashville, TN in Teen and Dance categories. There were over 20,000 songs entered from over 119 countries [in all genres].[17]

On December 22, 2012 Kurasov was an invitational guest at the X FACTOR-3 Ukraine. He performed a new song “Shopot Dozhdey” - "Whisper of Rains".[18] On February 26, 2013 Kurasov released one more song “Zabudesh”-"You'll Forget" that was successfully played in radio stations in Ukraine, Germany, USA,[19] and other countries.[20][21][21]

On June 18, 2013 Vladislav Kurasov's video for his song "Zabudesh"-"You'll Forget" was released.[22][23][24] It was made by famous Ukrainian director and screenwriter Maxim Litvinov.[25][26]

Vladislav Kurasov became a semifinalist of the another international music competition Unsigned Only-2013 (Nashville, USA) in TEEN category with song Halellujah (Leonard Cohen cover)! It was over 9,000 entries this year in all categories from over 100 countries worldwide![27]

On September 13, 2013 Producer Center STB and Vladislav Kurasov presented a new single "Day Mne Ispit" (Music and lyrics by Vladislav Kurasov) and a music video for this song was released on October 8, 2013 [28]

April 7, 2014 is a date of the new song release of this young artist. The title is "Ya Bolen Toboy"-"I'm Sick of You. Music and Lyrics by Vladislav Kurasov.[29][30]

Vladislav Kurasov's single "Day Mne Ispit" became "The People's Voice" Winner at the 2013 International Songwriting Competitions, and the Honorable mention in the category Teen. Results were revealed on May 6, 2014. It was near 20000 entries from 120 countries worldwide in all genres.[5]

On May 17, 2014 during his recital concert in Kiev, Vladislav have presented live a new song-18 (Music and Lyrics by Aleksey Malahov). The next day, May 18, 2014 it was released online. Vladislav commented :"Иногда не стоит искать глубокий смысл, иногда нужно просто отпустить себя и наслаждаться жизнью!"-which means " Sometimes it's not necessary to look for a deep meaning, sometimes you need to let it go and enjoy life" [31]

On June 20, 2014 the Vladislav Kurasov's song “Day Mne Ispit” was selected for the Al Walser Top 20 Countdown Show.[32] It was considered for this show even the song was in Russian.[33]

Another success in International music competition in USA. Vladislav Kurasov had won "Fandemonium " with the song "Hallelujah" in the "Vocal Performance" category in the 2014 Unsigned Only Music Competition. It was nearly 8000 entries from over 100 countries.[34][35]

Vladislav Kurasov together with a photographer Marina Khadzhinova had produced a new music video for his song 'Ya Bolen Toboy". On September 18, 2014 was a debut video presentation in a Kiev complex "Indigo" [36] It was released by MOON RECORDS [37] at YouTube ELLO channel on September 22, 2014.

Vladislav Kurasov performed at numerous concerts. One of them was an acoustic concert with Zhenya Khmara on November 29, 2014 in Kiev. It went with a great success, and part of the proceeds of this concert went to charity.[38]

Vladislav Kurasov new single "My Love" (Music and Lyrics by Vladislav Kurasov) was released MOON RECORDS on ITunes on February 24, 2015. On February 24, 2015 during his trip to USA, Vladislav was an invitational guest in a Premier Russian Radio in LA and during an interview he was presenting HIMSELF his new song.[39]

On January 22, 2016 video for his song"Na Glubine Dushi" was released. On January 26, 2016 Ukrainian TV Channels украинские телеканалы UA:Перший и СТБ had annonced that among the participants of this year's Ukrainian National selection of famous and talented Ukrainian singers for Eurovision 2016 is Vladislav Kurasov.[40]
