Vladyslav Heraskevych (born January 12, 1999, in Kyiv, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian skeleton racer who has competed since 2015.

Career

Vladyslav is trained by his father Mykhailo Heraskevych. He began competing in 2014. Previously he tried boxing.

In February 2016 she participated at 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, where he finished 8th.[1] Month before he was 17th at Junior World Championships in Winterberg, Germany. Next year he achieved 10th place at Junior Worlds in Sigulda, Latvia.

On February 24, 2017, he became first ever Ukrainian athlete to compete in skeleton at World Championships.[2] He finished 24th at 2017 World Championships in Königssee, Germany.

On November 10, 2017, he debuted in Skeleton World Cup and was 27th in Lake Placid, United States. Next week he was 13th in Park City, United States, which is as of January 17, 2017, his best ever achievement. That season he participated in 7 of 8 races and ranked 24th in World Cup classification.

On January 15, 2018, it was announced that Ukraine received one quota spot for men's skeleton competition.[3]

Personal life

Vladyslav is student of faculty of physics at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.[4]
