Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: automatic
Programming language(s): Javascript
Source code available: Once written, will post a link https://github.com/DannyS712/bot/blob/master/orphans-with-links.js
Function overview: Update Wikipedia:Database reports/Orphans with incoming links to list pages that are tagged as orphans but have incoming links

Function details: This is a database report that I will create. Previously, Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/DannyS712 bot 10 was denied because of implementation, and Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/DannyS712 bot 32 was denied because "I'm going to close this task as Denied. since I think we've concluded it needs automation." Since then, I have converted my 2 other database reporting tasks, 28 and 30, to automatically run via toolforge with (a lot of) help from MusikAnimal.
Discussion
[edit]- MusikAnimal - courtesy ping, since you denied the last request on the basis of automation, and I would be running this task via cron on toolforge. Thanks for all your help, --DannyS712 (talk) 03:45, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved for trial (3 days). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Yes I'm glad we got your bot up and running on Toolforge. This now seems ready to move forward. As I mentioned in the previous BRFA, I'd much prefer to see something listed at "Links to relevant discussions", but I'm making a safe bet here that people will use this report. — MusikAnimal talk 04:58, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- @MusikAnimal: Trial complete. - ran for 3 days, now on a cron job at 02:00 UTC. Didn't see any issues. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 02:14, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

- Approved. @DannyS712: Typo
orphanes
→orphans
, otherwise looks great. I have not vetted the data but the query looks correct. I think this report may deserve a link at Wikipedia:Orphan § Listings (or § See also). It may be of interest to WikiProject Orphanage as well. — MusikAnimal talk 02:32, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
