Discussion
[edit]Every 10 minutes seems somewhat excessive. Right now its only updated every few days. Mr.Z-man 20:45, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- That is it checks every ten minutes to see if anything has been updated, it it has the list changes, if not it stays the same. Atyndall93 | talk 09:48, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- It still seems unnecessary, if they aren't expected to change every 10 minutes, there's no reason to check that often. If there's 14 checks it needs to do (13 categories and the page itself), it will do over 2,000 API queries every day and may not make a single edit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this doesn't seem like such a time-critical page, checking every few hours seems like it would be sufficient. Mr.Z-man 15:03, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Ok, the time can be changed, is every hour ok? Atyndall93 | talk 03:41, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- If Z-man says it updates every few hours (I'm not sure myself), maybe check every three? —Giggy 10:03, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Ok, It's changed to three. Atyndall93 | talk 10:07, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved for trial (1 days). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Every three hours for a day, update Wikipedia:Community Portal/Opentask. Let's see how it goes. —Giggy 10:13, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(outdent) I'll need to find a stable webserver before I can start the trial. Atyndall93 | talk 10:58, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
