I created this one last night, and it came together a lot quicker than I thought it would, so here it is. About the title, originally it was called "List of ice hockey world champions" but I didn't think it sounded quite right, so I changed it. I am completely open to changing the name if anyone can think of a better title. Anyway, it is fully sourced (I tried to use as many third party sources as possible) and I will address any and all concerns. -- Scorpion0422 16:03, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Co-nomination by Maxim: I've done some major work with article, (copyedit, section split, renaming), and I agree with Scorpion that it meets the criteria. I will also help and address concerns. Maxim(talk) 20:17, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Since the majority of Wikipages have the TOC on the left, I think this one should, as well.
- The text would be squished if it were on the left. See User:Maxim/Sandbox for demo. Maxim(talk) 21:04, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- In the Olympic years 1980, 1984 and 1988, no IIHF World Championships were staged. why not?
- Because the Olympic hockey tournament was held instead.
- Well, in 1976 and 1992, there were both the Olympics games and the world tournaments held in the same year, so why did they decide to skip the World Championships in those three years only?--Crzycheetah 21:30, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I don't know, I can't find any reason why.

- Red links(1939-1971) - they're notable and should be created
- I'll get on it.
- We'll get to it, but it will take time; however, I don't think it's a reason to not having this pass. Maxim(talk) 21:13, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The "A" notes and the "blue" background mean the same thing, right? So, the notes can be removed.- You're not supposed to use just colour coding, but I have switched it to just a star.
- There should be an explanation of those numbers in parentheses.
- Done.
- Is that the right explanation? I think you should reword it to "number of tournaments won at the time".--Crzycheetah 21:30, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this sentence, "These tournaments have been announced, but have not been played yet." bolded?- Fixed.
The general references need retrieval dates.- Done.
Lastly, this page should be listed in more than one category.--Crzycheetah 20:29, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]- And done. Thanks for the review. -- Scorpion0422 21:04, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since you didn't list 1980, 1984, and 1988 in the table, shouldn't you remove the 1940–1946 row, as well? It's explained in the lead that those tourneys were not held, so why repeat that in the table? If you remove that row, you can make the table sortable, which, in turn, will make the list more useful.--Crzycheetah 22:50, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I was actually going to do that earlier, but I got sidetracked. The table is now sortable. Thanks for the review (again). Out of curiosity, do you think I should add victory numbers to the silver and bronze columns, and number of times hosted to the city and country columns? Since it has been changed to a list of tournaments (rather than medals) I think adding them to cities would help. -- Scorpion0422 00:01, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- That's not a bad idea. I think it would be beneficial to this list.--Crzycheetah 03:24, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There is currently a large edit war on the page, so it fails the stability criteria. I am Withdrawing the nominating. -- Scorpion0422 17:03, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
