Reason: A high resolution daguerrotype of a paddle steamer riverboat, taken 1852-1860. By far the oldest photograph of its type in either of the articles where it appears, it predates the next oldest by 60 years and is the only paddle steamer photo that dates from the era when this was cutting edge technology. Fortunately the archival version Image:SteamboatBenCampbell.jpg was in unusually good condition for a daguerrotype and needed relatively little restoration.
