Wikipedia:Featured portal candidates/Failed log/September 2006
Appearance
I am resubmitting this article for FP, as the problems listed in the archive seem to have been resolved:
- The content has been recently updated
- The picture is now called the "selected" picture, not the featured picture.
- {{portals}} is now included on the page.
Other than that, I think that it is a very good article. Some P. Erson 19:41, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Object:
- Selected picture needs an image credit.
- Topic box layout should be fixed to eliminate the gap in the bottom corner. It's not that bad on Firefox, but on IE, the gap is black, not white, and looks absolutely bizarre.
- Most importantly, "recently updated" is not at all the same thing as "regularly updated"; until this portal shows some more concrete signs of being actively maintained, I cannot support giving it featured status. Kirill Lokshin 03:02, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- I removed the black space, though I realize you are correct on the other points. Some P. Erson 14:20, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- I have a question.... with a portal for a subject like mathematics, where the subject is one that is largely static (as oposed to a sports-related or TV-related portal), roughly how ofen shoudl the portal be updated? Monthly? Weekly? Tompw 16:41, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- As often as possible? Less than once per month is generally considered uncceptable for a FP; I would suggest a weekly schedule, if possible. Kirill Lokshin 02:06, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- Object:
- selected article should be refreshed every week and you should consider changing to CURRENTYEAR, CURRENTWEEK system
- Things you can do box is not done
- Associated Wikimedia box is not specific (to understand, please have a look at this)
- What about related portals?
