Duke of Edinburgh-class cruisers
[edit]This small class of armoured cruisers principally served in World War I. Both ships participated in the unsuccessful pursuit of the German battlecruiser Goeben and the light cruiser Breslau at the beginning of the war before they were transferred to the Red Sea for convoy escort duties. They later joined the Grand Fleet in the UK and participated in the Battle of Jutland where Black Prince was sunk with all hands. The remaining ship spent the rest of the war on blockade and convoy escort duties before she was scrapped in 1920.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 15:36, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
