Legal Status of Workers and Fee Rationale[edit]

All positions will be 1099 contractors.

The payrate is based off of the $35/hr rate for the currently hiring WMNYC Metrics position.

Project Manager[edit]

Why[edit]

As we detailed in our IEG Final Report, Art+Feminism project has grown exponentially and we've made leaps and bounds in terms of expanding our community and building out work to make our organizers more self-sufficient. However, we continued to experience difficulties implementing the nuts and bolts of outreach work without a project manager. We need to move some of the responding to emails, doing outreach work to someone other than the core organizers. One of our goals for the coming year will be to have the core organizing group be focused on higher-level thinking and to have a project manager to handle the day-to-day issues of scheduling, communicating, updating our web presence, etc. We believe this will be key to Art+Feminism continuing to grow.

What[edit]

The Administrator/Project Manager's responsibilities will include:

Communication

  • fielding all incoming email to info@artandfeminism.org account
  • onboarding node events
  • ensuring timely updates with node events in the lead up to the March events
  • updating our website and social media platforms with pertinent information

Planning and Administration

  • arranging and leading meetings between the lead co-organizers and regional ambassadors
  • leading biweekly/weekly meetings between the lead co-organizers
  • co-ordinating with institutional partners at the Museum of Modern Art to ensure production of the central New York node event
  • co-ordinating with organizers and institutional partners internationally to ensure execution of edit-a-thons
  • updating the CRM with information about the node events as they develop
  • maintaining and ensuring the execution of project timeline and team action items on Trello
  • delegating and overseeing Project Assistants and Consultants
  • tracking event funding notification and reimbursement

When and How much[edit]

This is a .6 FTE, 24 hr/week at $35/hr

Lead and Regional Organizers[edit]

Our previous experience has shown that both Regional Ambassadors and Lead Co-organizers will work exponentially more hours than budgeted. See below for a break-down of labor, per title.

The fee for the Lead Co-organizers is based off a rate of $35 per hour for a total of 686.4 total collective hours per year (roughly 13.2 hr/wk or 4.3 hr/wk per Lead Organizer). For the past three years, we have organized node events. We hope that this aspect of our work will decrease with the hiring of three additional regional organizers and a Project Manager this year. This year, we hope to dedicate our time to high level strategic thinking: e.g. organizing committees to generate best practices documents, overseeing outreach and working with regional organizers, planning the MoMA event, generating more share-able content on training and organizational tips, and more.

Regional Ambassadors oversee the development and execution of events in their specific region. They also do outreach to organizations and groups in their area that have not previously organized Art+Feminism events, to encourage participation. Regional Ambassadors have also organized and led trainings for event organizers in their regions. The fee in the budget for Regional Ambassadors is based on the rate of $35 per hour and an estimate of 29 hours per year.
