Been browsing Wikipedia for about a year, decided to 'join' to help out a bit.
Interests: (alternative) music, vegetarianism, medicine, open-source stuff... that'll do for a start. How did I find out about Wikipedia? I can't honestly remember. I suppose I must have been linked to some article or other once upon a time, and navigated back to the main page. A good find, methinks.

Interests? Eclectic. Science, science-fiction, space advocacy, history, good movies 'n' music, insane humour, IT, AI ........ and so on. I like to write, which is very probably a good thing. Yes.

Hello! Somewhat new to WikiPedia

Hi! I've been making small edits since August on subjects I know well (mostly visual effects and scotch whisky.) Lately, I decided to add small pages covering products and companies I also know well. The pages I've added are so far in the world of video games.

Outside WikiPedia, I have had careers in cartoons, visual effects and video games, so would be happy to help out in these fields. My interests include the making & history of scotch whisky, filmmaking (directing and writing,) Chicago, and the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, among many others.

Hi, everybody, I'm a new user and I just got started. Just call me Seabiscuit. Anyway, I don't really know what my field of expertise is, aside from TV and random trivia. I know the basics of editing, but I'm no good at the more advanced stuff, like external links, and citing sources. To get me started in the right direction, could someone assign me pages that require basic clean-up such as spelling and grammar? After that, I could gradually start moving on to the more advanced stuff.

If I see a Google! result with wikipedia.org in the address, this is usually the first place I'll come. I find it very useful & informative. First of all, I'd like to thank you for allowing me to search and read your biography on Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986) since I've been interested in reading his short fictive stories. Some months ago I bought a paperback copy of his "Collected Fictions" (tr. by Andrew Hurley) published by Penguin Books but I thought while reading some stories that I needed more in-depth understanding regarding his literary works and other related backgrounds. One of the reasons is that he wrote about the Buddha in another volume (entitled something like "Non-fictions", I'm sorry I don't have the copy nearby to verify, thus I'd revisit this page to correct it) and it surprised me since I'm a Buddhist and notice that it's quite rare for Western authors themselves to pay attention to other religious founders. Therefore, it's my sheer delight to read Borges' ideas, understanding and what he tried to portray the Buddha even though he was not His follower at all. I personally think he might have acquired or been able to comprehend or lighten himself from his reading on Buddha's life and Buddhism sometime. Still, I'm wondering why he became interested in the Buddha. Again, I'm delighted to tell the world that Borges wrote superbly well with deep understanding on the Buddha and the religion, he deserves respect and gratitude from Buddists all over the world for his open-minded scholarship.
