Wikipedia:Picture peer review/Caught and Released Rainbow Trout

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Healed mouth damage from previously being caught

This picture was taken at Spinney Reservoir in South Park, Colorado. It shows a rainbow trout which was previously caught and released. This fact is evidenced by the healed interior mouth part now extruding on the outside of the fish. This happened when a fisherman caught the fish (most likely using a barbed hook) and while removing said hook, the fisherman temporarily harmed the trout. However, the trout obviously recovered after being released and was eventually re-caught by myself.

When practicing the Catch and Release technique, it is important to remember to use a hemostat to crimp your barb before presenting your fly to a fish.
