Makaira nigricans meat[edit]

Original - Marlin are often caught as bycatch in tuna longline fisheries. Marlin has commercial value throughout the world. Landings totaled 3,064 metric tons in 2000. The meat has a high fat content. Its meat is particularly valued in Japan for sashimi.

This is a fish that is renowned throughout the world and one that is popular enough to find its way into many grocery stores/fish markets. The picture itself meets the size requirement by double the recommended size and nicely illustrates the subject.
