Dialog doubt from F9 (film)[edit]

Roman and his team enters underground tunnel:

Roman: I don't think they had grids when this place was built. If a Ninja Turtle pop out on me, tell you right now, I'm out.

Not having seen it, it sounds like he's being funny, referencing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and to "pop out" would mean to "suddenly appear". Does that make sense in context? ←Baseball Bugs ^{What's up, Doc?} carrots→ 04:53, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

They are fictional and "live" in a fictional universe, in which their home is in the sewers of New York City, where they were instructed in the martial arts by a mutant rat. I haven't seen the film, but presumably the tunnel reminds Roman of the home of the Ninja Turtles as shown in the TV series, or perhaps earlier in the comic books. --Lambiam 07:38, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
