In the news, it was mentioned that the Rockwell B-1 Lancer is no longer "able" to deliver nuclear ordnance. The WP article confirms that it was "converted to conventional bombing use". What is unclear is whether it was modified such that it is no longer capable of delivering nukes, or simply had its role reassigned. Question: which? 2606:A000:4C0C:E200:2C59:D6C7:F7FC:8BB5 (talk) 17:45, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You just need to have a careful look through the article to find the phrase "the removal of nuclear arming and fuzing hardware." Presumably that could be refitted if required - but the planes as they stand now could not launch a nuclear weapon. Wymspen (talk) 20:26, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I read the seemingly relevant sections, but somehow missed that phrase. 2606:A000:4C0C:E200:2C59:D6C7:F7FC:8BB5 (talk) 20:35, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
