Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/2011 June 21
Hello, I'm a newbie. I'll appreciate any review on my article. This article is about a living person. It's a biography of Dr. Paul Kim the CTO of Stanford University, School of Education. His new ideas on future of education and empowering underserved around the world is my inspiration to create this article about him. I've already asked for the permission of using the material indicated in following websites: http://paulkim.stanford.edu/ http://www.stanford.edu/~phkim/
Permission has been granted and he sent the letter to wiki permission,...I've taken the picture myself and it's in a public place, Pune University in India. I want to make this article considered as Good Article, So will appreciate your comment and suggestion on quality. Thank you for your help in advance Arafeh Karimi (talk) 04:02, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
- Article looks good. Further information may be found on the article's talk page. Quinxorin (talk) 17:51, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
I started an article in my user space on free boundary problems, with some examples and a few mathematical generalities. No article on this subject exists, even though the concept is mentioned in several other places.

- article looks acceptable. I noticed one particularly blatant formatting error, which I corrected for you. I would say that it is ready to be moved into the mainspace (encyclopedia). Quinxorin (talk) 18:04, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Please review the article.

User:ManagEnergy/ManagEnergy 3 questions
[edit]Hello. This is my first article, I read all I could online, and used the wizard and user supbage draft, but did not find the answer to the following 3 questions:
1) ManagEnergy Logo: I tried to upload the logo, but although I tried it in a very small format, both in .jpg (16KB) and .gif (4KB) format, I always got the message "File extension does not match MIME type.".
Concerning the copyright: We designed this logo under the ManagEnergy contract for the European Commission; and they own the copyright. They asked us to write this Wikipedia article. So I wanted to add the following tags:
Description |
This is the logo owned by European Commission; designed under the ManagEnergy contract for ManagEnergy. |
---|---|
Source |
The logo is from the following website: http://www.managenergy.net |
Article | |
Portion used |
The entire logo is used to convey the meaning intended and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the intended image. |
Low resolution? |
The logo is of a size and resolution sufficient to maintain the quality intended by the company or organization, without being unnecessarily high resolution. |
Purpose of use |
The image serves as the primary means of visual identification of the ManagEnergy initiative of the European Commission |
Replaceable? |
Because it is a non-free logo, there is almost certainly no free representation. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary. |
Other information |
Use of the logo in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy, logo guidelines, and fair use under United States copyright law as described above. |
Fair useFair use of copyrighted material in the context of ManagEnergy//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_feedback/2011_June_21true |
mission
Can you please let me know if this is ok, and how to procede with the upload?
2)
I have a problem with the link: [| Local and regional energy agencies]
Written like this - [| Local and regional energy agencies] (= html SPACE pipe SPACE Local) - the pipe shows in the text of the Wiki page and written like this - [Local and regional energy agencies] (= html NO-SPACE pipe SPACE Local) - the link does not work as it has the pipe at the end of the URL.
What should I do ?
3) In the article on the Covenant of Mayors, there is a link to ManagEnergy. However, although it is written in the format ManagEnergy, and links to the URL "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ManagEnergy", it links to the page entitled "Energy policy of the European Union". If the new ManagEnergy article gets accepted, will this be updated automatically, or should I do something ?
Thank you very much in advance for your help,
Elena for ManagEnergy

New band-article. Notability should not be a concern in this case since they've released half a dozen albums on major record-labels and won the Spellemannsprisen as best pop group, and there's credible sources for both.
Velvet Belly currently links to a sort of shark -- should some kinda hint be added there, perhaps one of those "If you're looking for the band, go here" things ?
Also, I took the majority of actual text from the Norwegian wikipedia-article, and translated it. Do I need to add some kinda tag to indicate this fact ?

Intelligent Energy-Europe missing article
[edit]Hello, I've gone through all the pages to do with "missing articles", "suggesting new articles", etc; but could not find anywhere to make this suggestion. (I saw the pages with all suggestions though.) Where should I go to suggest a new article which I do not (or cannot) write myself ?
In this case, it would be about the Intelligent Energy - Europe programme, which is the EU's tool for funding action to improve market conditions and move towards a more energy intelligent Europe. http://ec.europa.eu/energy/intelligent/index_en.html
This article would be linked to the following existing Wikipedia articles: European Commission, ManagEnergy, Covenant of Mayors, U4Energy, etc.
Thank you for your assistance!

- You go to this page, then you scroll down to the list of article types and select the one that makes the most sense. Finally, click edit at the top of the page and add your entry in the same manner as the others are. Quinxorin (talk) 18:12, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
ManagEnergy's reply to Quinxorin:
- Dear Quinxorin, thank you very much; now I get it!
So this time, I have searched all over how and where to send you my thank-you-for-your-feedback message, but again could not find where. I hope here is ok !!! ManagEnergy (talk) 15:02, 27 June 2011

I wrote a page about the Audiocubes. The Audiocubes are a set of smart colourful blocks you can move around to make music. I would appreciate it a lot if someone could review my page. Thanks!

I was asked by the author to create this page for her but it's being tagged as a new unreviewed article, which I would like to remove. Could someone please review the page ASAP? Thanks!

[edit]Hi, I have created my first article and would like it just to be checked for consistency. I would like to see if it passes all the correct requirements, in case I need to add any more detail to it! Thank you!

His three magazines are noteworthy in the fashion industry for their quality versus quantity approach. His work has been reviewed by The New York Times, Interview Magazine, Dazed & Confused amongst others.

hello, could you please review my article. I'm new on Wikipedia and the first article I uploaded was deleted. After reading many articles with instructions, I wrote the article again. And before putting it online I wanted feedback from a Wikipedia contibutor. This time it's only text, because I am still waiting for the permission of the picture creator that I want to use. Thank you!

this is a new TV concept (http://www.dagbladet.no/2011/06/21/kultur/debatt/kronikk/tv/hurtigruten/17002747/) receiving recent attention in Norway due to the live coverage of the Hurtigruten ship MS Nordnorge during it's 134 hours voyage from Bergen to Kirkenes starting on the June 16, 2011. Please see if you find this concept noteable for addition in the English eddition of Wikipedia.

I have some flags on both of my articles: MangoSpring and MangoProjects. My question is:
- What is the etiquette of removing these flags from my articles, i.e. can/should I removed them myself when I think their issues have been addressed or will someone else remove them? The flags are "Written like an advertisement", "Conflict of Interest" and "Few in-pointing and out-pointing links (and references)". I feel that the advertisement flag is not a concern because the tone is similar to articles in the same company and product space. The conflict of interest is not a concern in my opinion because the articles are notable, objective, and non-biased in my opinion. The "Few Links" tag has been addressed by adding more tags and references.
I look forward to hearing from you.
