Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Administrators
Welcome to the administrators page of WikiProject Schools! This page is for the use of Wikipedia administrators (also called sysops). Some Wikipedia policy for schools is different from that of other kinds of articles. From time to time we may add useful tips and shortcuts here. These are of course guidelines only.Coordinators?
The Coordinators keep the project pages on their watchlists, welcome new participants, maintain lists, keep the discussions tidy, on track, and on the right pages, and check for signatures and page links, and develop sub pages and templates as required, etc. — nothing much more than any experienced project member can do. Coordinators offer their own suggestions and opinions in the normal way. |

School block
[edit]Many school articles are created and edited from computers on a school network. School articles are notorious for attracting vandalism. Wikipedia has zero tolerance for spam or vandalism and after the usual warnings a school IP address may be blocked. This will not prevent students and teachers from using the encyclopedia, but it will force serious contributors to either register, or edit school articles from their home computers. Registering with Wikipedia is always the best solution.
You are encouraged to use this template as a blocking reason whenever you are blocking a shared educational IP. For blocks shorter than 3 months, it is recommended that you do not duplicate this notice on a blocked IP's talk page and instead use other user block templates to provide immediate notification to the vandal of the block. As this template is rather large, it is preferable that we do not have it displayed multiple times simultaneously for each talk page. Use this and do not subst.: {{schoolblock|comments (optional)|sig=~~~~ (optional)}}

CSD
[edit]Candidate for Speedy Deletion: bearing in mind:
- The practiced notability for high schools, and other mainstream schools that provide a full-time education to Grade 12 (18 years old)
- That primary and middle schools are uncontentiously merged and redirected to either the school district or locality page
- That schools are exempt from CSD A7
There are still plenty of reasons why a first draft may be totally unsuitable for mainspace. Some of these may be genuine hoaxes, vandalism, or blatant advertising/copyvio by private establishments. In such cases, other appropriate CSD reasons can be applied. Innocuous poor creations or very short stubs can be uncontentiously userfied with an appropriate message to the creator. We want to encourage students to make pages for their schools, but we need to educate in the use of sandbox space.
