Sheshi was a ruler of areas of Egypt during the Second Intermediate Period. The dynasty, chronological position, duration and extent of his reign are subject to ongoing debate, mirroring problems in determining events from the end of the Middle Kingdom to the arrival of the Hyksos in Egypt. Sheshi is one of the best attested kings of the period spanning the end of the Middle Kingdom and the Second Intermediate period; roughly from c. 1800 BC until 1550 BC. Hundreds of scaraboid seals bearing his name have been found throughout Canaan, Egypt, Nubia and as far away as Carthage. Three competing hypotheses have been put forth for the dynasty to which Sheshi belonged. Some Egyptologists believe he should be identified with Salitis, founder of the 15th Dynasty according to historical sources and king of the Hyksos during their invasion of Egypt. Others propose that Sheshi was a later Hyksos king, belonging to the second half of the 15th Dynasty. Alternatively, Sheshi may have been a vassal of the Hyksos. Finally, Sheshi could also have been a ruler of the 14th Dynasty, a line of kings of Canaanite descent ruling over of the Eastern Nile Delta immediately before the arrival of the Hyksos. - Reasons for nomination: Sheshi is the only featured article for the entire Second Intermediate Period of Egypt (and quite possibly also for the Middle Kingdom period). Shesi is odd in that he is the best attested ruler of his time, yet little is known about him and Egyptologists keep quarelling about him, they can't even agree about when he lived, with estimates varying over 150 years !Iry-Hor (talk) 07:12, 24 January 2018 (UTC)

- Comment: Your blurb is far too long. It's currently 1,835 characters; you need to get it down to 1,200 including spaces. Also where are all the wikilinks? Freikorp (talk) 13:06, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- I don't mind doing the blurbs, but wikilinks would help. - Dank (push to talk) 13:27, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- Freikorp Dank Fixed. I made a mistake when writing the blurb and all links disappeared, which is now corrected. I have also shortened the blurb.Iry-Hor (talk) 14:43, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- It's much much better, but as per the guidelines it's still about 300 characters too long. If it makes things easier, copy and paste the preview text into a program like Microsoft Word which can count the characters for you. That's how I make sure my blurbs are the right length. :) Freikorp (talk) 23:24, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
