Description
[edit]- Goals
- Make Wikipedia a quality source for information about pinball.
- Create guidelines for articles about pinball, to improve article consistency and make article creation and editing easier.
- Scope
- The history of pinball, arcade pinball machines, notable home (small-scale) pinball machines, pinball-related devices or equipment, and to a limited extent video game pinball simulators
- Individual biographies with a strong association with pinball, including those of pinball developers, designers, artists, champions, etc.
- Companies, organizations, publications and other non-individuals with a strong association with pinball
- All articles with a strong association with pinball, even if it is not the primary topic of the article (e.g., Tommy (rock opera))

- Adopt and optionally taskforcify: This is a reproposal, as the project has already existed for some time but become moribund. I am not a pinball-interested editor, but took pity on it, cleaned it up, and even totally overhauled its category structure. It's like a beater car with half an engine that has been transformed into a shiny classic hot rod. Seeking pinball fans to adopt this project. I've even made you a handy to-do list at the project page. I'm thinking it should really be made a task force of WP:GAME; however WP:GAME, like WP:SPORTS, is largely a dormant "container" project. I'll defer to others on that half of the idea; I just want to see someone pick up this project/taskforce and work it. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō)ˀ Contribs. 03:11, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Support. I am willing to join and help out as I both enjoy pinball games (real and simulated) and have even created and worked on some pinball relevant articles. I am incidentally and administrator and bureaucrat on a pinball specific wiki. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 06:07, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
[edit]- Note to incoming readers: If you came here because I left a note on your talk page, that was because this project (should it become a WP:GAMES taskforce?) will need committed editors interested in pinball-related topics to collaborate in the project/taskforce, and your editing history suggests you may be interested in participating. This is not a vote, especially not on whether or not pinball is a notable enough topic for a project (of course it is). The only question on the table is whether enough editors will focus on the topic to make a project or a taskforce viable. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō)ˀ Contribs. 16:54, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Perhaps WP:Video games task force instead? 76.66.193.224 (talk) 02:03, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A Wikipedia:WikiProject Pinball already exists, and the proposer of this proposal is a member of that WPP... curious... 76.66.193.224 (talk) 02:11, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
