Category policies[edit]
Category:Telecommunications is the top category for articles under this WikiProject. It is a subcategory of Category:Communication, which should mainly deal with social science issues.
The Category:OSI protocols should be used as a map for categories to as large extent as possible.
The Category:Wireless is for anything pertaining to the use of radio waves in telecommunications, except broadcasting, which is covered in Category:Radio .
Suggestions for new and changed sub-categories[edit]

New sub-categories[edit]
- Telecommunication theory was created in August 2007. It may partly replace the old category Communication theory, which also includes social science issues.
- Category:Applications of Telecommunication was created in August 2007. (Partly overlapping with Category:Application layer protocols.)
- Category:Redirects from telephone number was created in August 2007. This collects all country calling code redirects. Example redirect +54.
- Example category: example was created (date).
Categories requiring diffusion and clean-up[edit]
There are too many articles in these categories; they need to be moved to subcategories where appropriate.
