In this course we discuss environmental (and ethical) issues that the National Parks confront. For example, to what extent are National Parks managed for impacts from pollution, invasive species, mining, climate change and tourism? How are they addressing indigenous cultures and engagement of the lands they are on? How do they strive to be both wild and accessible?

The US National Park wiki sites are very popular, but are largely focused on their history and geology, not current environmental status. We would like to change that.
