Wikipedia:YouTube links to Wikipedia
Appearance
In March 2018, YouTube announced that they would be adding links to Wikipedia underneath videos about conspiracy theories.[1] YouTube refers to these links as "information cues"[2] or "information panels".
The first batch of articles was announced in July 2018. These are:
- Global warming
- Dulce Base
- Lilla Saltsjöbadsavtalet
- 1980 Camarate air crash
- Federal Emergency Management Agency
- Kecksburg UFO incident and
- MMR vaccine.[3]
YouTube's state-funded media notices[4] also began linking to Wikipedia in July 2018 (for example, a video from CBC News or Dateline (Australian TV program) displays "CBC is a Canadian public broadcast service Wikipedia" or "SBS is an Australian public broadcast service Wikipedia", respectively).
