Out of curiousity, is this a work in progess and is it complete? If it is, then the one strong advantage is has over all other designs that I have so far seen is that it would never need updating! GizzaDiscuss © 09:17, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will tweak it but it will never get bigger. The point of it is the link to the Welcome Page aka the current main page. This will be updated regularly just as now. Scolaire (talk) 09:39, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Problems

[edit]

I'm not too keen on splitting off a 'welcome' page, but, that aside, there are some technical problems with the page:

  • The search button overlaps the word 'Geography' in the portal list.
  • The header (i.e. the search box + portal list bit) is wider than the screen on my low-res computer, requiring scrolling from side to side to read the right hand column of the portal list. The text underneath is, however, does not have this problem. Anaxial (talk) 17:01, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would be grateful if anybody can fix this - I have no technical savvy. Scolaire (talk) 16:43, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
