They are very effective. I have never tried to whack the King68.13.60.210 (talk) 02:31, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Although this punishment sounds bad, for regicide, this would beat being drawn and quartered I think! (unless it was just a prelude)--69.237.196.94 (talk) 05:41, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Makes one wonder how an erection could be obtained in such circumstances... Anjow (talk) 00:26, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

They probably would've put a prostitute in his cell. I doubt they would have told him about the torture they were about to put him through. 74.251.28.215 (talk) 16:16, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

"erect" penis?

I'm assuming that someone about to have his penis torn from his body wouldn't be "turned on" enough for his penis to be erect. YMMV 68.101.130.214 (talk) 04:28, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

I doubt it too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.245.14.122 (talk) 07:19, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

I think there can be other ways to provide an erect penis, though; even in a flaccid state the device would probably work, and what about passing out and having the blood recede when the white hot device is applied.--69.237.196.94 (talk) 05:41, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

the medieval torture industry employed fluffers. little known fact, but true.--76.247.164.158 (talk) 16:00, 15 March 2008 (UTC)      can you provide sources?--69.237.196.94 (talk) 05:41, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Think about this possibility, You attempted to kill the king, and you are told that you will be getting an last wish (Think Prostitute). You get all nice and erect, then they take out the shears. I can think of the guy's thoughts before blacking out : "Wow, The king really treats his prisoners wel... Wait, I'm not into S&M..." 68.252.59.59 (talk) 21:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

It is entirely possible to force an erectile response by manual or rectal stimulation. The erectile response is involuntary and can be forced on a man. In fact, provided that the man is subdued enough to not physically overpower her, it is possible for a woman to rape a man without the use of accessories by doing this. It would be trivial for medieval torturers to prepare the victim for the device. 98.239.4.21 (talk) 03:14, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Picture

It would be nice if we could get a picture for this page. Nat682 (talk) 21:54, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

No it wouldn't!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.231.143.75 (talk) 16:42, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

But I agree, an illustration would be most effective!--69.237.196.94 (talk) 05:41, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

My thoughts

Perhaps forced administration of aphrodisiacs could cause it to get up. Also consider the fact that certain methods of suspension do cause erection by blood pressure. It is totally possible. Or perhaps the old switcheroo mentioned above. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.125.133.131 (talk) 22:07, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
