Hi Kyra -- you can always look at the Task tab on the main AfroCROWD page. There's a category there for stubs that might be of interest to your students - List of Articles - Categories. All the best, Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 01:39, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

WikiProject Women in Red/The World Contest

Hi I don't know if this group is still active or not but in November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for African and African American women or wherever please sign up in the participants section. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Notification of Rapid Grant proposal for Wikidata QuickSheets - useful in BLP and *gap work

Hello all, I wanted to let you all know that I have submitted a Rapid Grant proposal to further develop software that will semi-automate the process of moving BLP data from Wikipedia to Wikidata. As you will see, it is particularly useful for BLP and *gap work, as it will allow you to quickly source claims. For example, with the proposal to remove all unsourced Ethnic Group (P172) claims. The tool is designed to be accessible to those without programming experience by using simple article lists to generate spreadsheets for human evaluation. This builds on work done as part the Art+Feminism campaign, which is detailed at our workplan where you can see in detail more about how the tool works. Architects.Build.Wiki is an initiative to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Black architects and their buildings. Please join an online edit-a-thon on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, part of the 50th annual conference of the National Organization of Minority Architects.
