Rank/honorific/post-nominals

Guys, not sure if or where this is written down anywhere but precedent (e.g. Wikipedia:Today's featured article/October 26, 2013 and Wikipedia:Today's featured article/May 28, 2014) suggests that rank, “Sir” and post-noms are not generally used in TFA blurbs – perhaps Bencherlite can confirm the usual practice and rationale... I had forgotten about the postnominals, you're right. Regarding "Sir", I'm American, so I don't think I'm ever going to understand. I can tell you that it doesn't offend Americans one way or the other. - Dank (push to talk) 01:53, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
