Microformat in taxoboxes[edit]

I think the microformat class is incorrectly applied in {{Taxobox}}. The binomial name is written in two forms, both G. species and Genus species. The microformat class seems to be applied to the former, but the correct use, I believe, would be on the latter. Abbreviating genus names leads to much ambiguity, which I believe somewhat defies the purpose of microformats. - Soulkeeper (talk) 10:51, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The microformat class "binomial" is applied to the latter; the class applies to the former, "species", is not part of the microformat. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 22:18, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
