Format

John Carter has suggested that we leave comments beneath the items being addressed so that lengthy discussions can more easily be moved to a subpage. That seems a good idea, and I'll move my comment accordingly. This page is intended as being a general forum for all issues concerning religion, mythology, and philosophy articles. Any and all concerns, suggestions, ideas, and proposals for how to improve and manage any content in any of these areas is more than welcome, preferably on the main page itself, rather than the talk page. • I'm going to make a brief comment here, despite your recommendation to comment instead on the main page (sorry, see also herding cats). I realize that most of the editors here are primarily interested in articles about religions per se, but I'd welcome editors who are serious about rigorous sourcing and adherence to WP:NPOV to also keep an eye on articles that deal with criticism of religions and/or religions and violence, where there are never-ending disputes, often clouded by agendas other than serious encyclopedia building.   I understand completely about the reservations about criticism of religion and religion and violence. I do note that there has been in just the past month the book Religion and violence: an encyclopedia of faith and conflict from antiquity to the present, by Jeffrey Ian Ross, reviewed in the magazine Reference & Research Book News. The review is not particularly positive, saying that the book, specifically Ross's introduction, doesn't do much to establish what the nature of the link between the two subjects is, but that is a different matter. Much of the criticism of religion content in recent years has been, so far as I can see, from a more or less atheist perspective. If I am right in that, maybe having articles on Atheism and Judaism, for example, might be a better way to go. However, I do think that the subject is significant enough to be placed in one of the sections of the main page, or maybe as its own subsection, so that maybe we can get more input. Proposal for a WikiProject on mysticism

If you look at the religion-related projects on Wikipedia,you will see that there is not one entitled "Wikipedia: WikiProject Mysticism", yet, funnily enough, there is a Wikipedia:WikiProject_Germanic_Mysticism . However, this latter WikiProject has the tag heading it which says "This WikiProject is believed to be inactive". I wonder, therefore, whether a more general WikiProject on mysticism in general might have more entries. This could deal with a lot of mysticism - of different religions and of different parts of the world (for example, there have been famous mystics from Spain, such as Teresa of Avila or John_of_the_Cross - mysticism has never been linked exclusively to Germany). This wikiproject could also deal with mysticism in different religions, both the Abrahamic faiths of Christianity, Judaism andIslam, and Eastern religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism or Taoism. Any one who has any views on this proposal is welcome to leave message here on the talk page of my userpage.
