Wikipedia talk:WikiProject United Nations/Open Access Descriptions
First try
[edit]I gave a go at making Open Access in India. This is a new class of articles, so I made a new category at Category:Open access by country.
Copying the text is easy. Applying the new template to show licensing is easy. Formatting the text for Wikipedia could take 10 minutes. I think an experienced Wikipedia could process one of these texts in 15 minutes and a new user should be able to follow the instructions in 15-30.
The time consuming part of this would be trying to match individual claims to individual references, which is something which Wikipedia requests. Right now, these texts are matched with a general bibliography instead of in-line citations. That's fine - it certainly is good enough for copying into Wikipedia. The sources at least in the case that I did were great.
It is such a new idea for Wikipedia to assimilate text in this way that I think many people will pause to think about this, but this is great text and a great class of articles that I feel everyone would want. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:10, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
